Debian bug #575298: fixed tar versions for Squeeze

November 13, 2012

UPDATE [2012-11-19]: it seems the patch is not working as I’m still getting the segfault; I strongly suggest to use the backported version that I get to work!

Debian Squeeze shipped tar program that is affected by Segfault with –listed-incremental when archive includes root directory bug.

There’s a patch (attached to msg #10 of above bug report) that can be applied to the version 1.23 (shipped with Debian Squeeze).

I did that and backported to Squeeze the Wheezy’s 1.26 version that currently is under testing.

Backported 1.26 version Backported 1.26 version

Patched 1.23 version Patched 1.23 version WARNING: it seems the patch is not working as I’m still getting the segfault!
